When it comes to buying a car in India, Maruti holds a very special place in the hearts of Indians. With the times evolving and companies like Mahindra established themselves in the mainstream market apart from HMV, competition is head on for Maruti and Hyundai now.

More than 3.8 Lakh passenger cars have been reportedly sold in India in February 2025. This number shows that sales increased by 2.3% over February last year but declined at the same time by 5.2% compared to January 2025. The Queen, Maruti Suzuki Fronx is positioning itself at number 1 position with sales of 21,461 units alone in February 2025. Followed by the Maruti Suzuki WagonR at 19,879 units and then Hyundai Creta securing the third position with 16,317 units sold.

With 15,480 units sold in February 2025, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is standing at fifth position and then comes Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which clocked sales of 15,392 units which is a bit more than the Tata Nexon, which sold some 15,349 units. Car Makes Sales In February 2025 India

Mahindra Sales February 2025

Mahindra is beating Hyundai, in Feb 2025 it secured the position of second largest car manufacturer in India. The company has reported a total sale of 52386 utility vehicles which includes domestic and exports, Mahindra has recorded an impressive 19% Year-on-Year sales growth. 


Hyundai Sales February 2025


Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported a total sales of 58,727 units in the month of February 2025, which includes a significant surge in exports. The total units sold are 58,727, out of which 47,727 units were sold in the Indian market and 11,000 units were exported last month. 

Maruti Sales February 2025


Domestic Passenger Vehicles Sales – MSIL has reportedly sold a total number of 160,791 units in February as against 1,60,271 units in the same month in 2024. The company registered a marginal growth of 0.32 percent.

Tata Sales February 2025


Tata Motors sold a total number of 46,435 passenger vehicles in India in February 2025, reporting a YoY sales decline of 9.43%. The company had sold 51,267 vehicles in the same month in 2024. The brand’s month-on-month sales also declined. 


Tata Motors sold 5343 electric cars in the month of February 2025 as against 6,923 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales decline of 22.82%. 

Kia Sales February 2025


Kia is standing sulking at the last, but I would say it’s still not bad to sell a total of 25,026 vehicles in the month of February 2025, when it comes to standing hard against competitors like Maruti on their own land. Kia registered an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 23.89 percent. The company sold about 20,200 units in the same month in 2024.

Conclusion

The current stats, data and analysis for the auto sales in February 2025 saw a mixed performance. Where Mahindra & Mahindra saw a 15% rise in total sales, with exports inflating to 99%, and JSW MG Motor and Toyota Kirloskar reported 16% and 13% growth, respectively. Whereas, Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors, however, in not so rare cases, recorded a decline of 3% and 8%, respectively.
